In our beloved Gainesville, most of our unused (but reusable) items and furniture end up either sitting on the sidewalk or taking up space in a landfill. At The Junkluggers of Gainesville, we know there's a better way.
We, along with our amazing charity partners, are proud to say we're doing something to make our world more sustainable. The Junkluggers of Gainesville is always working to build a network of charities in service of our number one mission—to donate (or recycle) as many of our customers’ items as possible. We're deeply passionate about our work—not only because it's great for the environment, but because it benefits our local community, too!
At The Junkluggers of Gainesville, we work hard to ensure those in need receive much-needed furniture, clothing, and critical items—and our customers get a tax-deductible receipt for every item we're able to donate.
In the last year alone, The Junkluggers kept over 10 million pounds of furniture and junk out of landfills. We donated couches to formerly homeless veterans, brought toys to children in need, and delivered shoes and clothing to help keep our neighbors warm.
Wondering where your stuff will end up? What follows is a list of some of our awesome partners in the charity and nonprofit worlds. It's not comprehensive, but it will give you an idea of the kinds of people, causes, and organizations that your furniture, “junk,” and other items can help to support.
Charities We Work With:
Mikey's Way Foundation was founded to help children cope with life-threatening illnesses. Mikey's Way Foundation was founded in 2005 and has been helping families every since!
Soles4Souls creates sustainable jobs and provides relief through the distribution of shoes and clothing around the world. Soles4Souls works with over 1,200 non-profit partners to distribute new shoes and clothing, donated by retailers and manufacturers, to people in need and in times of disaster. We receive shoe and clothing donations from corporate partners, and then work with non-profit partners including homeless shelters, after school programs, international relief and disaster relief organizations to get shoes and clothes to those who need them most all around the world.
Inova Children's Hospital is an award-winning, full-service children's hospital devoted to the healthcare of infants, children, and adolescents in the Northern Virginia area. Inova Children's Hospital is a not-for-profit children's hospital that relies on community support to provide world-class care close to home.
The foundation of everything we do is that every woman and child deserves the basics in life. We are able to provide a little light and fun in otherwise tough situations. Many clients have only the clothing on their backs…we remedy this! Through generous donations we make sure these women and children have what they need to reclaim their place in society.
Vets on Track's mission is to ensure that every veteran and first responder transitioning into permanent housing from living on the streets has the necessary furniture and household accessories to transform their new house into a “home.”
